click the pic to make it happen…

da killa ka

i love these…
they’re tasteless
they’re wrong in so many ways
they significantly alienate the masses…

but they are one of the best examples of viral marketing around.
apparently, ford UK have tried to distance themselves from these by claiming they were the product of somewhere deep in the bowels of the agency, were never approved, and somehow, just happened to find their way to the internet… uh huh…
i don’t know… i smell a budget…
since i’m already in the realm of viral advertising, here’s one from Burger King that is creepily reminiscent of a porn webcam… go on… ask it to do ANYTHING…

ads as art

this is yet another great example if viral marketing. it was presented as a documentary by venezuelan director carlos soto about a small town in sweden of 32 residents who all bought the exact same car on the same day. as the documentary finishes, a popup ad from the disgruntled director appears saying that “the story is not true. and i can prove it” with a link to his personal website where he claims to have been duped.
in fact, this is a mockumentary created by spike jonze for volvo.
